feeding rice bunches into the combine, in the old days it seems they dry the bunches by hanging them up on poles and then used some kind of rake looking thing that you shoved the tops of the rice down over and then yanked on the straw while the rice fell off on the other side, hmm, that was an interesting description, do you get it?? I saw that on tv, so I assume it's accurate:) and then I think they used a foot operated treadle machine to remove the hulls.
